Project Description
This cloakroom was bright but boring. It was ready for something much more exciting - a dose of the colour drench trend.
This redecoration was a chance to try out the trend of painting woodwork, the ceiling and the door in a colourful paint shade, which picks up a colour from the wallpaper. I had long been searching for some sea-themed wallpaper. Finally, I found the Under the Sea design by Caselio which includes whales and turtles in some Hokusai-esqe waves. I found the right shade of blue to work with the paper ā Little Greene Air Force Blue ā and I was set.
I began by painting the ceiling, and the woodwork. When that was completed the back of the door looked very sad and grey, so I painted that too. I had the toilet and the towel rail taken off to ease the wallpapering and I began my first wallpapering job! It was hard work, and a great learning experience, and I am so pleased with the results!
The colour brings so much joy to the space, this has been a real transformation. As I suspected I love the paint and wallpaper combo, so Iām working out which other rooms I can transform next!
